Our approach
Passing on a language starts with listening to those who speak it
Fii Fulɓe literally means “for the Fulani”. It is a learning platform built with native speakers, for families, curious minds and culture bearers.
- Principle 1
The variety comes first
Fula is not a uniform language. Every word, sentence and recording is tied to a specific variety. When content does not yet exist in yours, we say so instead of silently offering another.
- Principle 2
Human voices
No pronunciation is produced by a synthetic voice. Recordings are made by native speakers, with their consent, and their origin is kept.
- Principle 3
Validation in several steps
Every piece of content goes through drafting, review and validation by a qualified person before publication. Corrections remain possible at any time.
- Principle 4
Culture in its context
Tales, proverbs and traditions vary from one region to another. Each cultural item states its geographic context, sources and contributors when known.
Do you speak a variety of Fula and would like to help with recordings or proofreading?
The contributor programme will open with the first learning paths.
